The Maree family’s passion for cycads—especially Cycas revoluta—blossomed from a hobby into a thriving business and laid the foundation for The Olive Tree Garden Centre.
It began in 1998 with imported Cycas Revoluta seeds from Taiwan, followed by Cycas Thouarsii, grown on a large scale for the wholesale market. As demand grew, the family expanded into retail, officially launching the retail arm in 2007.
What started with cycads soon grew to include a wide range of plants, pots, gifts, and even garden pets like koi and birds. Naturally, this led to stocking pet food and accessories, including Montego products.
Originally known as Cycads Galore, the business evolved into The Olive Tree Garden Centre — a name that reflects our broader offering and commitment to growing alongside our customers’ needs.
